Day 2!

All in all, Lilly's first day of middle school was good. She had a bit of trouble with her combination lock on her locker and missed half of her lunch period (she only got to eat half her lunch), which meant she was super hungry by the time she got home yesterday.  We purchased a key lock and switched them out. We'll see if that helps with speeding up her locker visits.

On to today's lunch!
▪️Turkey, white American cheese, and light mayo tortilla roll ups
▪️ pineapple chunks
▪️pretzel spoons and a Laughing Cow light Swiss cheese triangle
▪️Nature's Path Organic Dark Chocolate Coconut Macaroon bar (Lilly couldn't really eat this because it's a very hard bar and she has braces.)
▪️ Horizon Organic Lowfat milk

Packed in the Rubbermaid Lunch Blox system.
I have the smaller version of this system and even though they're somewhat interchangeable, this still isn't my favorite system. The snapping aspect (the containers are meant to snap to the ice block) isn't as secure as I'd like.

I think we may break out her GoGreen Lunch box tomorrow!

First day of sixth grade!

Soooo, we're back to public school this year and back to bento!
Well, sort of.
Lilly asked that her bento lunches be a bit more mature this year.
How do you make a "mature" lunch?
Anyway, here's my stab at it today!
Turkey and White American sub on wheat
Green, seedless grapes
Sensible Portions Garden Veggie Straws in Zesty Ranch
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Oikos Blueberry Greek Yogurt
Horizon Organic low fat milk

Here's to a great year full of great lunches!
